Blogged: Men’s Grooming

Been doing makeup for over two years now, but I’ve never practiced or got into men’s grooming or male makeup. The idea of it is just out of my comfort zone and I just doubted for most of the time that I could ever really do it.

But, recently I’ve been able to do some men’s grooming thanks to some friends who are willing to trust me on their photo shoots and got me as their makeup artist despite my inexperienced hands on this aspect of makeup.

Here are some photos from my recent photoshoots with model Adryan Hanson (same guy, different photo shoots)ย

This is my work and personally I think It’s not as bad as I thought it would turn out, but what do you guys think?

The same rules of makeup apply on men, but of course theirs would need to be more subtle in such a way that you’re just perfecting their skin and trying to make the highlights and contours as natural and seamless as possible, at least when that’s what’s required on the shoot ๐Ÿ˜‰

Please let me know what you think of my work and/or please give me tips if you have any on male makeup/men’s grooming because I’m currently still learning about it ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hey Gia! I don’t have any tips as I have never done a mans makeup before but thought I would let you know I think your photos look great! You did a fantastic job! What did the model think? xxx

    1. Hey ๐Ÿ™‚ well everyone liked it on set, people who saw my work on facebook thought that I did a good job. But you know, sometimes your idea of good isn’t to others so I had to share this to get feedback from other creatives ๐Ÿ™‚
